I love this sentence, because I believe it to be what moves any piece you can write toward a better direction. It also relates to an interesting study on self-perception and social media. The research concluded that when you choose from a bunch of selfies you made, you will rarely pick as a profile pic the one that other people find to be the most beautiful. And it goes with detachment. Not only what other people likes about you is different form what you see in yourself, but you often attach to a self-representation for reasons that are not connected to real appeal.

Treating yourself as a co-creator is a nice relatable trick to succeed in that kind of detachment.
