I would read thousands articles like this, I so much enjoy neologisms and linguistic research. I personally love all the terms and idioms that came out of Zoom or of the praxis of social events happening online. In Italian we got aperivideo which substituted aperitivo (happy hour turned into an happy videoconference). Another really cool thing are the words that became of common usage during the pandemics and got to be part of humor idioms. For instance, in the first Italian lockdown people were obliged to stay at home — leaving was punished as a crime. If you needed to move, you had to fill out a form, declaring you were moving for reasons the government enacted as justifications. After that period people got used to say stuff like “Do you have a self-certification?” whenever someone is explaining something utterly complex, implying that you need to see if they are “authorized” to do that. I love how the words you hear everyday on mass media get to be a part of pop culture.
