You made a wonderful analysis! I never liked Pinocchio, but I see so much in it now. Pinocchio also often gets cited in legal history books on filiation. From what I read, Walt Disney strongly wanted to produce this movie because he knew what was the fate of children who were born out of wedlock. Both his parents were of European descent and it was long believed that he was a «Bastard». This is also why Collodi made Pinocchio a wooden boy, «not a real boy». It was his childhood experience by being born from two parents who were not married to each other.
